Radio amateurs in Lithuania have a tradition every summer to meet somewhere in a beautiful place.

Lithuanian Amateur Radio Society (LRMD) organize LY HAMFEST-2010 and kindly invite radio amateurs from all countries.

It will provide excellent occasion to meet over 300 LY hams in the same place.

Official opening ceremony will take place on Saturday at 12.00 noon, but, as always, we start gathering on Friday.

Closing ceremony will take place Sunday afternoon but this would not mean the end of the gathering.

LY HAMFEST-2009 will take place in tourism homestead “Azuolu slenis” (“Oak Valley"), near highway Riga-Siauliai-Kaliningrad section Kelme in 81-82 km. Turn right and go about 100 meters.

If necessary, friendly LY amateurs will give you a lift from Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda or other places. Arrange it with us by e-mail ly1dl@azzcardfile.net or call +370-688-01477.

Main activities

HF, VHF, HST (telegraph), ARDF (fox hunting), CAC (crazy acoustic contest), basket ball, rope pulling,

bicycle, weightlifting, fishing and other contests will take place on Saturday after opening.

Market, auctions will take place during the gathering time.

In the evenings – bonfires, live music, dancing, etc.

Saturday there will be an excursion for the ladies.

HF club station LY1RMD will be available for all.

A special station, with callsign LY2010LRMD, will be working on the air all time.

We suggest to bring your own transceivers and aerials for demonstrations and trials to work under field conditions.

CEPT T/R 61-01 licenses are valid in Lithuania, if you have it, you could operate LY/xxx with your own rig.
